I wonder if there are any owners at Nautilus Cove Condominium who think they made a good decision to purchase a condo here? If there are I haven't met them yet. There are a lot of problems at NCC, almost all of them could be corrected with at least some decent leadership. Leadership starts at the Board of Directors and the 2 'Developer/Directors' couldn't care less about this project. They probably wish they had never started Nautilus Cove.


Sales were not great before the real estate bubble burst and since then the market tanked they have had to go to renting out unsold condos (59 unsold at the last count). We have one owner Director and one person out of 3 can't actually 'do' anything. We saw that with the first owner/director who could not get any cooperation from the 2 developer directors and resigned. We see other examples of just how badly they are doing, where at the 'officers' of the condo? The BOD is responsible for 'electing' a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. This should have been done 2+ years ago according to the condo documents. Another example of disinterest is the ongoing owner suit against the Board of Directors and Waterstone Resort Realty for the Waterstone rental violations in their 4 owned units.

Our Board of Directors ignored the matter for over 9 months and it was only initially responded to when my attorney sent a demand letter. The reply from the Association attorney of the time David Milam was a breezy 'I don't see anything wrong, have a nice day'. Now the matter is in the 14th Judicial Circuit Court and the costs on this needless suit go up every day. (See also: http://nautiluscovesuit2008.blogspot.com for further info on this suit). This complex will be eligible to have 2 owners on the BOD in August of 2010 and at that time we will have control of the Board and it will be payback time for the developers and if the place hasn't been totally run into the ground in the next 22 months then perhaps we can get things back on track for a better community.

Questions for Dec 6th meeting:
Dec 6, 2008 is the NCC Annual Meeting. The election is already over and the BOD remains as before. The only owner filing was the currently serving Leonard DiGiacomo of unit 616 so the position remains his.* Last years election had 5 candidates. Your Board of Directors are available via email at:
